Union Square | 333 Post St, San Francisco, California

2021 National Buffalo Soldier’s Day brings global attention to Union Square and contributions by Buffalo Soldiers throughout the Great State of California. May 1903, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt was escorted by Buffalo Soldiers from the San Francisco Presidio to Union Square for the dedication of the Dewey Statue.

High above Union Square is the statue of the Greek Goddess Nike who personifies victory. Today, we celebrate 2021 National Buffalo Soldier’s Day, marking the ongoing journey towards freedom utilizing the courage, strength and valor of the women and men who continue to serve our nation well.
