Event Details

2023 Worldwide Protests to End Fossil Fuels (Nor Cal / Bay Area)

Here are some SF Bay Area events happening as part of the Global Climate Strike weekend happening worldwide ahead of the UN Climate Ambition Summit 2023.  Climate Strikes are happening globally on 9/15, spearheaded by Fridays For Future.
The huge international march is in NYC 9/17.  However, a large Sacramento/Nor. CA protest is planned the same day.
The Global Climate Strike is part of the truly global effort to End The Era of Fossil Fuels.   Actions are planned around the world, with the main international March to End Fossil Fuels happening in New York City ahead of the UN Climate Ambition Summit 2023.

This is a worldwide call to action from Indigenous and First Nations, youth activists, civil society organizations, social movements, feminist and migrant rights groups, trade unions, faith institutions, academic centers, health institutions, people of all genders and backgrounds, everywhere.

Why? Because the Climate Emergency is now!

This summer of record-breaking heatwaves and toxic wildfire smoke makes it clear: pollution from oil, gas, and coal is deadly.

We can’t breathe or play outside. Our families are forced to evacuate as our homes are swept away by floods, burned down in mega-fires, or destroyed in hurricanes. Our water is too polluted to drink. Wild and beautiful places are disappearing, and creatures big and small are dying. Our democracy is under threat from the corrupting influence of fossil fuel money in politics.

We are demanding the fossil-free future that we deserve!
