With over 3,000 seats and a meticulously-restored interior, the Paramount offers a true “Movie Palace” experience straight out of the 1930s – with period newsreels, cartoons, previews, live music from the Mighty Wurlitzer organ and the audience participation spinning wheel game of “Dec-O-Win.”
Shots ring out in the night and playboy Monte Beragon is found dead in a beach house. As police investigate the shooting, their inquiries zero in on Mildred Pierce (Joan Crawford) and her life story begins to emerge… Mildred left behind her humble beginnings as a middle-class housewife and waitress raising two daughters on her own to start an affair with the murdered Monte Beragon and launch her own successful restaurant chain.
Is Mildred a conniving manipulator consumed with ambition, or is she a victim of trusted friends and family members? Joan Crawford won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
