ON HIATUS: $5 First Friday at Chabot Space & Science Center | Oakland Hills
Enjoy $5 admission to the Chabot Space & Science Center in the Oakland Hills every First Friday of the month from 6-10 pm.
$5 admission includes unlimited access to everything from laser and planetarium shows to Night Hikes and Star Stories. Regular admission is $18 for adults, so this is a super deal.
Every First Friday event will include a variety of fun evening activities for the whole family. Enjoy music, a bar, science demos, talks, telescopes, space missions and more.
Some activities have limited capacity and are first come, first served, so get there to sign up early. There is no pre-registration for First Fridays; just show up and join in on the fun.

June First Friday Schedule
- Explosive Science Demonstration: 7:30pm
Capacity: 200- Redwoods Twilight Hike: 7:45pm
Easy 1-2 mi hike on trails through the redwoods. We’ll watch sunset colors from atop Redwood Peak and walk back in late twilight. And identify constellations and planets from Chabot’s Observatory Deck.
Capacity: 25
Family Mini Missions: 6:30pm and 8:30pm
Astronauts must be 10+ to fly without an adult or 7+ with their parent.
Capacity: 14 per mission- Star Stories: 8:45pm
Bring your sleeping bag and a jacket for star gazing and storytelling on our Observatory Lawn!
Capacity: 60- Telescope Viewing: 7:30-10:30pm
