$5 Off Tix: Hitchcock’s “The 39 Steps” from San Francisco Playhouse (Mar. 7-Apr. 20)

It’s Hitchcock, but hilarious. In The 39 Steps, four actors play over 100 roles, resulting in a Tony-winning play that’s part slapstick comedy, part noir thriller. Save $5 off tickets with code FUNCHEAP.

Following a mysterious murder, the rather dull Richard Hannay launches on a high-speed chase from a London music hall to Scotland’s highlands, where he must dodge devious spies, woo beautiful bombshells, and attempt to reveal secrets of The 39 Steps, an international spy ring. With inventive stagecraft and masterful performances, four nimble actors play more than 100 characters in this riotous spoof that is equal parts slapstick comedy and film noir thriller.

“Theatre at its finest… absurdly enjoyable! This gleefully theatrical riff on Hitchcock’s film is fast and frothy, performed by a cast of four that seems like a cast of thousands.” – The New York Times
