“50 Years of Pride” SF’s Brand New Online Photo Exhibit Launch

With the Pride parade unfortunately canceled for 2020, this Friday (May 15) is the launch of a new online photo exhibition 50 Years of Pride on the GLBT Historical Society’s website.

This photography exhibition documents the evolution of San Francisco Pride, the event that most powerfully represents and celebrates the Bay Area’s LGBTQ community, over the past half century. It features nearly 100 photographs spanning five decades of Pride celebrations, from the event’s humble origins in the 1970s to the massive gatherings of recent years.

“50 Years of Pride” is one of two online exhibitions the society is organizing to commemorate Pride’s golden jubilee. This colorful and exuberant show features nearly 100 photographs, drawn both from the society’s archives and contributed by over a dozen independent queer photographers.

The exhibition will ultimately be displayed on the ground floor and North Light Court of City Hall later this year
