Friday Nights at the de Young the museum stays open late and hosts all sorts of interesting events, concerts, art projects and lectures. Although regular admission prices still apply to visit the museum’s galleries, all of the events below are in the public spaces of the museum are completely free and open to the public
April 15, 2011: Discarded to Design : Discarded to Divine returns to the de Young with its 6th annual event (it takes place on April 28 and tickets range from $150 to $20k – ouch!!!). But tonight get a free preview of some of the handmade creations in the Pizzoni Murals Room from 6pm to 8:30pm
- 6p Hands-on Art Making Class: From Rejects to Remarkable Rejuvenations: Create your own accessory or creation from re-used material.
- 6:30p Live Music: La Tania Baile Flamenco in “Noche de Tablao”
- 7pm Multimedia presentation, “From Adrian to Armani: Fashion in Film,” by our favorite local film critic Jan Wahl.
