Film Schedule:

TIGHTLY KNIT Jenni Nelson TRT 4:42
The story of three passionate and quirky characters obsessed with knitting. It defies the stereotype that knitting is just for grandmothers and introduces contemporary trends in a vibrant knitting community.

DEATH RATTLE Bucky Knaebel TRT 3:18
This is the first short I’ve ever made. It was part of an assignment where we were allowed one 10-hour day of filming, on school property, and only two characters. I converted a studio to look like a bedroom where the short played out. It’s a quick story about a woman surviving a home invasion.

CHILDREN OF THE COCKETTES Benoit Lacasse TRT 7:00
A backstage look at the characters who have maintained the Cockettes as a San Francisco institution since the 1970’s.

WASTELAND Luke Frazier and Mark Frazier TRT 6:41
Set after a nuclear holocaust, this tale follows one man as he encounters others in this post-apocolyptic world. Tensions are high because resources are low, and no one can be trusted.

GREAT HIGHWAY (work-in-progress) Mark Gunson TRT 16:52
Documentary on the history of surfing from San Francisco’s Ocean Beach to Maverick’s.

****INTERMISSION****

GAY PEOPLE’S COURT: FASHION BEAT DOWN
Kevan Arrington, Mark Kliem, Brandin Lakee, David Lynam TRT 7:00
A comedic television parody about being summoned to the Gay People’s Court for a crime involving a pair of pink suede high top shoes.

NEUROTIQUE, NO 1 Nara Denning TRT 5:30
Nara Denning, awarded “Best New Silent Filmmaker in San Francisco” by SF Weekly.
Scorned for the last time, a young man snaps and swears off the fairer sex for good. “Doing it My Way”, he builds a robotic masterpiece of feminine virtue who does his laundry and showers him with “l’amour mécaniques”perhaps even more that he can stand.

AFRICAN JOURNEY Emiko Omori TRT 15:00
Screening programs have successfully reduced cervical cancer mortality rates and the incidence of advanced disease in industialized countries, but in Uganda and all over sub-Saharan Africa, througout Latin America and Southeast Asia, women continue to die from this preventable disease. This piece produced for PINCC (Prevention International: No Cervical Cancer) recounts the efforts of those trying to change the outcomes for these women.

MOVING DAY Jamin Llombre TRT 15:00
In a culture often defined by color, what happens when two young men leave their black-and-white worlds and are forced to face a vibrant reality?
