80th Anniversary Golden Gate Park’s Fly Casting Pool & Free BBQ | SF

Join the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club for a celebration marking the 80th anniversary of the historic Angler’s Lodge and Casting Pools (1232 John F. Kennedy Drive) in Golden Gate Park on Saturday, May 12.

A project of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1938, the ponds are free and open to anyone with an interest in fly fishing, from beginners to seasoned experts.

The day will start with free casting lessons from 9:30 a.m. to noon, followed by a ceremony and free BBQ lunch until 3 p.m. Come out, cast a line and get out and play.
