SFO Gets its First New Low Fare U.S. Airline in 15 Years
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) just welcomed U.S. low-fare airline Breeze Airways which just launched three new routes, plus four more coming in June through November.
Fares originally started at $49 to $99, but have since creeped up. Per usual for the “low fare” airlines, there are tons of restrictions on the cheapest fares. So unless you don’t care about a seat assignment and don’t bring anything bigger than a small personal item, be prepared to pay more.
The airline, which is the first new domestic carrier at SFO since 2007, plans to launch the Airport’s first nonstop flights to the following seven destinations:
- May 25: Richmond, Virginia (two flights per week – Wed and Sat) – starting at $124 each way
- May 26: Charleston, South Carolina (three flights per week – Thurs, Sun and Tues) starting at $122 each way
- May 27: Louisville, Kentucky (two flights per week – Fri and Mon) starting at $130 each way
- NEW: June 1: Tampa, Florida (six flights a week) starting at $150 each way
- August 4: San Bernardino, California (daily flight) starting at $52 each way
- NEW: August 4: Provo, Utah (Salt Lake City) (daily Flight) starting at $50 each way
- NEW: November 22: Westchester County, NY (daily flight) starting at $99 each way
Breeze Airways, founded in May 2021 by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman is adding 35 routes this summer from 10 new cities, coast to coast. The low-fare airline is expanding from its initial route structure in the U.S. East and Southeast to 77 routes between 28 cities in 18 states.
