Event Details

Gritty, Soulful, and Raw Ballads and Reflections

Combining elements of traditional Americana music with alternative rock, folk, and country, the lyrics of this sub-genre often focus on themes of love, loss, and nostalgia while the music often has a melancholic, introspective feel. Think Wilco, Ryan Adams, and The Avett Brothers.

Me & Louise is the genre-defying band formed by bird serenader Louise Nalbandian and Ben Osheroff with his ominous visions. Rooted in American songwriting traditions and centered around the piano, their songs range from heartfelt love ballads to apocalyptic cinematic madness. You might compare them to Eels, St. Vincent, Lady Gaga, or Leonard Cohen.

Tin Can Telephone is an alt rock group from San Francisco, CA, comprised of Josh Klag, Lenny Soule-Siler, and Ajay Subramanian, who met at a bar cheering for [redacted football team that might have won Super Bowl LVIII.] They’re known for moody originals and are yet to write a happy song. Their sound is inspired by Phoebe Bridgers, Alannis Morissette, and Olivia Rodrigo. Currently, Tin Can Telephone is working on their first album titled “Gut Punch” and will release their debut single this fall.

E.G. Phillips comes from a country called the Midwest. He creates lyric driven songs with his own special blend of whimsy and cinematic imagery which he uses to give a wry take on dealing with the longings of the heart and the madness of existence. You could call his music jazz-infused alternative Americana — “Bob Dylan with flatted fifths” or “lounge music that falls somewhere between Tom Waits and They Might Be Giants.”

“Ducks With Pants” is his fake band.
