Sneak Peek of the New Mission Dolores Park
On any given Saturday (provided the weather is above 50 degrees), you can either expect to feel your hair turn grey or feel energized when stepping into the craziness of Mission Dolores park. Between 5,000-10,000 people spend their weekends here, enjoying the sun, glorious views, and company of their friends. (And maybe a beer or two…)
UPDATE – The opening is postponed due to weather. Check Facebook for updates.
Next week (January 14th), the entire park will be officially open for the first time since summer 2015, featuring beautiful new bathrooms (now 27 total, versus 4 with the old park), new ADA compliance for pathways throughout, and an amazing new overlook at one of the greatest vantage points in the city.

During the new south side Mission Dolores opening, we got to see the nearly-completed park and tour its big improvements. The most important thing to know is that the park still looks and feels the same, but the renovations will hopefully be one of the greatest gifts to its users. The bathrooms are one of the biggest improvements, built into one of the hills to avoid obstructing the actual feel of the park with big buildings.
New restrooms on the south side of the park.
In a city that’s so expensive, having Mission Dolores as a place of refuge for people has become one of the greatest gems of the city. It is a reflection on the quality of life in the city, evidenced by the fact of how many people continuously use and love this park. With the Love Dolores campaign, the park is cleaner than ever, and hopefully will remain that way as the second half of the park opens.
2016 could not start out any better – our Mission Dolores Saturdays are back and we’re ready!
