Diamonds are beautiful, but also functional. Learn how the unique characteristics of diamonds make them the perfect material for scientific research.

Christine Beavers is a research scientist based at the Advanced Light Source at Berkeley Lab. She received her B.S. and Ph.D. from UC Davis in Analytical Chemistry. Her specialty is crystallography, which is the determination of 3-D structures of molecules from crystals, using X-rays.
