Free Concerts at Optical Underground | SF
A free show in a glasses shop? It’s true. Optical Underground is an eyewear store with a double personality — it morphs into a downstairs venue with great acoustics featuring local bands.
Their monthly after hours underground sessions offer free shows with free drinks and snacks. These SF natives use every opportunity to jam in their underground space.
Often they will have a donation jar for a local non-profit, so bring some cash to chip in.
Bay Area indie rockers The Dandelion War will be performing live at Optical Underground from 7-9pm on Friday, April 26, 2013.
The band recently played San Francisco’s acclaimed Noise Pop Festival. Their sound has been described as having “the build ups and crescendos of Explosions in the Sky, the alien echoing other-worldliness of mid-career Radiohead, the pleasing falsetto and hypnotic soundscapes of the Antlers, and tiny pulsing heartbeat and cave-deep reverb of a dewy Sigur Rós.”
Complimentary snacks and beer from Black Star Brewery will be served.
