Kapwa Gardens presents “Not Your Mama’s Adobo”: A Filipino Food Festival on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from Noon to 6p. Kapwa Gardens is a beautiful garden oasis located at 967 Mission Street in the heart of SF’s SOMA Pilipinas district.

What is Adobo? Adobo is a quintessential Filipino food – a unique flavor profile of soy sauce, garlic, vinegar, and bay leaves makes a unique sauce that is packed with umami in every glorious bite. Every Filipino household has its own take on the base recipe.

At this one-day festival, discover delicious new twists on this Filipino classic. Eight Bay Area chefs create eight unique adobo-inspired tastings including spare ribs, pork belly dilaw, birria tacos, paksiw, sitaw shrimp, and much more. Filipino dessert will also be available for purchase, including a smooth and scrumptious ube banana pudding with ohtap crumble.

Check out the Kapwa Gardens website for a list of chefs.

Get Tickets ($30-$55) / Half-passports ($30) good for entry for 1 person and 4 tasting tickets. Full passports ($55) good for entry for 1 and 8 tasting tickets.

Contest ended: One lucky Funcheaper will win a pair of half-passports (valued at $30 each) which gives you entry to the event for two, plus you’ll each get tasting from 4 chefs of your choice.
