Come learn about the history of the San Francisco Jewish community with

  1. Marc Dollinger, PhD, Richard and Rhoda Goldman Chair in Jewish Studies and Social Responsibility, SFSU, “American Jewish Life on the Edge (of the Continent): Jews and the History of San Francisco”
  2. Jeff Lewy, Bay Area Cemetery Transcriptions Coordinator, San Francisco Bay Area Jewish Genealogical Society, “Transcribing Bay Area Cemetery Data: Helping Genealogists Do Long-Distance Research from Home”
  3. Marc Shaffer, Director of the documentary, American Jerusalem: Jews and the Making of San Francisco, “The Making of American Jerusalem”

5:30pm Panel discussion followed by a 10-minute intermission

6:40pm Screening of American Jersualem

This event is located on the 1st floor of the J. Paul Leonard Library in Events Room 121. Free event, but RSVP is required due to limited space. Birthday treats and refreshments will be provided; however, guests are welcome to bring food to nosh on during the screening.
