Event Details

On Tuesday, April 29, 2014, a new ballot initiative will be introduced at city hall that would severely restrict — and possibly end — short-term rentals in San Francisco. In other words, see ya later, Airbnb.

According to Airbnb, the authors of the ballot measures are focused on outlawing short-term rentals across San Francisco.

If you support home sharing and Airbnb, come show your support at 12:30 pm at Civic Center Plaza, on the Polk Street side of City Hall.

Rally Against the Airbnb Ban
Tuesday, April 29, 2014 | 12:30 pm
Civic Center Plaza, Across the street from City Hall
FREE, but RSVP requested  (cause they may film or photograph the event)

Why “ban” Airbnb?
– SF currently loses out on the 14% hotel tax on Airbnb rentals
– A concern that the city’s rental stock will be turned into full time Airbnb vacation rentals, driving up rents
– Landlords are stuck with rent control, but renters have no limits on what they can charge for subletting through Airbnb
