Activate McCoppin: Month-Long Block Party | SF

During the month of November 2013, Activate McCoppin is temporarily transforming the McCoppin Hub, at the intersection of Valencia and McCoppin Streets from a parking lot into a community hub.

McCoppin Hub is hosting a variety of events and art installations in an effort to offer opportunities for communities to come together, connect, share, collaborate, and have fun. This project will help determine what programming works in the McCoppin Hub prior to the improvement project slated to begin in 2014.

Want to host your own event? Come teach a class on basket weaving, play some bluegrass, or host a panel discussion. The possibilities are endless.

Randy Borman, Chief of the Cofan tribe (a small tribe deep in the Amazon rainforest) will give a talk and then open up to questions. The Cofan are fighting hard to save the rainforest and their culture. Randy is one of the biggest names in the world in the fight to save the rainforest.

Randy spoke at the TEDxAmazonia conference in Brazil.
