About the Project

Release the Beast is a ten-minute animated film about a shy kid named Aaron who is making a character for his gaming club when he gets bullied at school. When his rage AND his bullies follow him home, Aaron’s angry voices come alive to defend him as multiple versions of the game character he’s working on. Aaron must navigate how his anger gets in the way or helps fuel his goal.

The short film packs a powerful punch, with a cast of hilariously rage-driven characters, a world where gaming tropes continuously invade Aaron’s reality — and a story that explores essential themes about anger and our inner voices.
