The legendary punk venue, 924 Gilman, is hosting its annual family-friendly Zine Fest with stations for kids and teens to make their own zines, and plenty of comics for both adults and kids.
You’ll find fanzines, identity based zines, intersectional feminism, political, and children’s zines. Plus, there will be readings, workshops, and panels for every age.

Children and teens of all ages are welcome to stop by this DIY workshop and make a zine of their own. They will discuss some simple prompts to get ideas flowing, and then using a few basic supplies and an easy folding technique, they will make a mini 8 page zine. Whether it be through collage, writing, or drawing, zines are a wonderful way for kids and teens to express themselves and share with others.- Starting Your Own Info Shop – with Charissa & Metal Marna (Wasted Ink Distro) and Ashley Ferro (Upside KC)
