65th Annual North Beach Festival | 2019
Submitted by the Event Organizer
Considered one of the country’s original outdoor festivals, the North Beach Festival celebrates its 65th anniversary in historic North Beach.
2019 North Beach Festival
Saturday & Sunday, June 15-16, 2019 | 10 am to 6 pm
Grant Avenue and Columbus Avenue, San Francisco
The Festival site includes numerous quaint streets in the heart of the district including Grant Avenue, Green Street, Vallejo Street and Columbus Avenue.
North Beach Alert: Please note, for 2019 this is your last weekend to enjoy Washington Square Park for 6 months as the park will be closed starting Monday 6/17/19 for construction.
The event will feature over 125 arts and crafts booths, gourmet food booths, two stages of live entertainment, poetry readings, Italian street painting, beverage gardens, kids’ chalk art area and the blessing of the animals.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to participate in this San Francisco tradition which is known nationally and internationally.
- Blessing of the Animals: The animal blessing at The National Shrine of Saint Francis of Assisi (610 Vallejo Street) will take place from 2 pm – 3 pm both days during the festival.
- Kids’ Chalk Art Area: Let your kids creativity shine in North Beach and buy a square and street chalk at our kids chalk art area on Vallejo St. between Grant Ave. & Columbus from 10 am – 6 pm both days.
- Circus Bella: The circus showcases static trapeze, family foot juggling, a 9-person club passing act, contortion, hula hoop, original clowning and more. The music is originally composed and directed by the highly acclaimed Rob Reich and draws from French Waltz, New Orleans Jazz, Klezmer, and American Circus March. Audiences are bedazzled, lifted up, and join in the celebration of the heart of circus: community, joy, and achieving the impossible.
- Maker Block: The 1500 Block of Grant Ave. will be transformed this year into a makers event arena featuring many booths with “Maker Activities” like ones where you can press your own “Emperor Norton” coin. See leather goods produced, watch Cannoli being made, and more.
