A San Francisco State tradition for over half a century, Film Finals is the School of Cinema’s annual showcase of the best films made by Cinema students at San Francisco State University during the academic year and the City’s premiere student cinema event.
This year Variety included San Francisco State University on an international list of the best film schools, and in 2016 the school was ranked as one of the top 25 American Film Schools by the Hollywood Reporter.
The student films presented at previous Film Finals programs have gone on to screen at prestigious film festivals worldwide including Cannes, Telluride Film Festival, SXSW and the San Francisco International Film Festival.
This year’s program is comprised of work from graduates and undergraduates alike, representing various genres, styles, formats, and media. It continues SFSU’s vibrant cinematic heritage that has resulted in alumni receiving Oscar nominations for fifteen consecutive years.
This tradition has lasted for more than fifty years, every year being an exciting and inspiring night of cinema.
