Event Details

WanderArt invites you to a party celebrating Art on BART featuring live painting, live music, plus a talk and Q&A session with the six Art on BART artists.

There will be a pop-up gallery and a silent auction featuring original paintings, prints and sculptures by some very talented Bay Area artists. The artists will share the story behind the works that BART riders are seeing every day, and then we’ll open the floor to any and all Bay Area artists whose work might not necessarily be visual.

WanderArt funded their Kickstarter campaign, which paid for advertisement space in 20 separate BART cars during the month of March. Those 20 BART cars have been transformed into identical moving galleries, where prints of the six selected works will replace the usual ads. Art on BART artists include:

  • Gabrielle Wilson Sealy
  • Radio Free Clear Light
  • Sean Wirth
  • Arash Shirinbab (Sunrise of the Bay, on right)
  • Jeffrey Thompson
  • Brendan Getz

WanderArt is a two-person team building an app that helps people find the art around them and records their reflections while the artwork’s right in front of them. Blood of Strangeness by Radio Free Clear Light
