Event Details

Join them for this special advance screening of the groundbreaking new documentary From the Ashes, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April and will air globally on National Geographic this summer. This powerful, compelling, and often heartbreaking film captures Americans in communities across the country as they wrestle with the legacy of the coal industry, and what its
future should be under the Trump administration.

This screening is sponsored by the Sierra Club. It will be followed by a Q&A about the film. Igor Tregub, Chair of the Sierra Club’s San Francisco Bay Chapter will also be on hand to discuss issues related to coal in the Bay Area and the status of the Oakland Coal Terminal.

From the Ashes was produced by the Academy Award- and Emmy-winning production company RadicalMedia, directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Michael Bonfiglio, produced by Sidney Beaumont, and executive produced by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Joe Berlinger.

Free but an RSVP is required. They will be giving away free popcorn. Admission is free but limited to 60 people. A second screening may be offered at a later date, depending on attendance.
