Asian Invasion: NorCal – Pop Art Event (Dublin)

Asian Invasion: NorCal is a pop art event that showcases Bay Area/Bay Area adjacent Asian artists working in the field of comics, book illustration, jewelry, and galleries.

This is a chance for local Asian artists to show that their work includes and extends far beyond the tropes and trends that Asia is typically known for. It’s important for Asian artists to have their imaginations, their aesthetics, their views, their ideas, and their culture acknowledged in the arena that is modern art. It’s also important for these artists to get to know their local community and for their local community to get to know them. Artists engaging with their community shows the breadth of that community’s culture and diversity. It enriches the community and allows the people to be a part of the area’s artistic world.

King Kong Comics & Games is hosting this showcase as well as tabletop gaming tournaments the weekend of September 21-22, 2024. There will be comics, original art, prints, hand-crafted jewelry as well as special prizes for the games.
