Event Details

Ever since Carl Sagan sent the Arecibo message to space in 1974, evolving technological capacities inspire us to reach out to other life forms and share our humanity with the future.

Considering what it means to be a teen in San Francisco in 2014, the Spring Youth Advisory Board Artists work to share their perspectives and lives with teens of the future, be they human or extra terrestrial.

Their final projects will be exhibited at Southern Exposure before they are documented and sent to space aboard a civilian CubeSat mission, and to Houston where they will be added to NASA Astronaut Karen Nyberg’s work, on display in Fall 2014.

Opening Reception: Thursday, May 8, 2014, 5-7 pm
Project on View: May 8 – 17, 2014
Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, noon to 6 pm
