Event Details

Listen to a conversation about Japanese American representation, authenticity and the writing process with Maggie Tokuda-Hall, author of Love in the Library, and a San Francisco Public Library librarian.

Love in the Library, a children’s picture book, is about the inspiration and emotions based on a true story, recounting her grandparents’ time in the Minidoka incarceration camp, Tokuda-Hall memorializes her grandparents’ hopes, worries, and miraculous act of them falling in love, despite the backdrop of a place designed to make you feel inhuman.
