Awesöme Orchestra | Epic Free Classical Concerts

Awesöme Orchestra brings people together for musical adventures. Their free sessions are part performance, part open rehearsal. They provide the sheet music, and anyone is welcome to play or to listen.

The Awesöme Orchestra Collective is the Bay Area’s most adventurous reading orchestra, dedicated to playing excellent orchestral music of all kinds with amazing musicians in a fun, casual environment focused on high musicianship. Their events are always free, but they ask for a pay-what-you-will donation to help cover basic costs.

In line with the overall theme for Sunday Streets SF, this session will be featuring pieces about water.

They’ll begin at noon with The Wreckers: The Overture by English composer and member of the women’s suffrage movement, Ethel Smyth. Next, they’ll take a dive into local composer (and Resident Guest Conductor) Brian Adam McCune’s piece Aquatic Refuge, and for the final hour, they’ll explore Hyrule with Koji Kondo’s Wind Waker Symphonic Movement from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
