Event Details

One of the Bay Area’s most celebrated bakeries is coming to Alameda, and they’re opening their doors for the first time on May 9th.

Bake Sum has earned a devoted following since founder Joyce Tang opened in Oakland’s Grand Lake neighborhood in 2021, racking up accolades from the San Francisco Chronicle, SF Eater, Nosh, and
Check Please Bay Area along the way. The New York Times even named their inventive Croissubi one of the best dishes eaten anywhere in the country in 2024.

Now they’re bringing all of it; the technique, the heritage, and the obsessive attention to craft to the iconic Alameda Marketplace.

Doors open at 9:00 AM. Bake Sum will be open until they sell out that day, and if you know Bake Sum, you know to get there early.

This is one opening you won’t want to miss.
