Event Details

Ballet22 returns to the Great Star Theater this February to present an encore performance from the 2022 Gala. The performances will feature a mixed bill of classical to contemporary ballet that push the gender normative traditions. The program will feature beloved classics as well as the duet Symbiotic Twins choreographed by world renowned choreographer, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and a world premiere by Durante Verzola.

Doors open 45 minutes before the show. There will be an intermission, bars with drinks and snacks, and an outdoor patio.

About the Cast
Ballet22 cast returns for this spectacular program. These artists are challenging gender stereotypes and rebuilding what it is to be a ballet dancer en pointe.

Founded in 2020 by Roberto Vega Ortiz and Theresa Knudson, Ballet22 exists to push the boundaries of what is possible in ballet while focusing on producing and presenting works, ranging from classical to contemporary ballet, that break gender normative traditions, specifically by presenting men, mxn, and non-binary artists “en pointe.” Ballet22 is a member of Intersection for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
