Meet up for an awesome 6-mile hike through San Francisco from 1-4 pm on January 23, 2016.
You will begin at John Muir Drive and Skyline Boulevard. The 57 bus drops you there (there is a bit of parking too, but you will not be returning to this place). Hold on to your hat. Fort Funston features 200 foot high sandy bluffs on San Francisco’s southwest coast where the winds blow reliably wildly. No surprise it is one of the premier hang-gliding spots in the country. A network of trails make it ideal for hiking. Dog owners will be happy to know they can take leashes off here.
From there, you will walk toward Pine Lake Park and Stern Grove (a 33-acre recreational site in the Sunset District). Feel the love for the Eucalyptus forest here. You will then head over to the Sunset Reservior Brewing Company on 25th Avenue and Noriega to celebrate the day with a pint.
Meeting Location: Skyline Boulevard and John Daly Drive at the inbound #57 bus stop. This is an A to B hike (meaning they don’t return to the beginning of the hike; it will end in the Outer Sunset).
