Event Details

Want to know how it’s done? Kick drum: right foot. Tambourine: left foot. Guitar: left and right arms. Singing: mouth. THAT’S how true rockers do it!

At the Kestral Sound Review Vol. II: Battle of the One-Man Bands, five brave men and women are going to duke it out solo at Cafe du Nord, needing no help to make their local (mostly SF) sound come alive. Behold the Lineup:

  • Greer the Mallard – “Top-down beach attitude with the gravel-and-glass of a good garage act.
  • A Magic Whistle – “For fans of strange and wonderful electro-acoustic psychedelic music.
  • Ricky Lee Robinson – “One man weirdopop band, with 19th century lyrics and underwear.”
  • Hanalei aka Brian Moss – “The listener is automatically transported back to another time and season.”
  • Daniel Durrett – “Multi-instrumentalist whose electronic, eclectic music explores a range of interesting sounds.”

Plus, there’ll be a few visual artists showing their works and the evening’s MC is none other than Cold Steel Renegade, San Francisco’s proud Air Guitar Champion. Oh yeah.

DOING GOOD WITH YOUR MONEY: This is actually a benefit for the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, an organization changing San Francisco’s urban landscape into a more bike friendly environment. These are the types of people who pushed for those 40-odd miles of bike lanes being painted throughout your city.
