The Bay Area Pun-Off comes out, excitedly, to welcome wordplay and groaning at Humanist Hall in Oakland, March 11th, 7:30pm (doors at 6:30).
This slow groaning phenom started in January with self-styled Punmeister Jonah Spear, and has evolved from a small, self-effacing experiment to a house-packing extrava-groan-za. Punsters compete vicariously for the prized Puntiff Hat with Prepared Puns and crowd favorite, Punslingers. Spear had the idea after competing, with his father in the O’Henry World Championship Pun-Off in Austin Texas last year.
