Beers for the Bayview – Community Cleanup
When: Saturday, January 8th, 2022
9:30am-11:30am
Where: Candlestick State Park
——–
Join us on Saturday, January 8th for our first Beers for the Bayview Community Cleanup in over 18 months! We have teamed up with DPW and Cal State Parks and Rec to cleanup the inside of Candlestick State Park.
Who’s Invited: Everyone. This is an all ages, family and dog friendly cleanup.
What to Expect: Candlestick State Park is a beautiful park located on the bay across from Candlestick Park. There is a large, free parking lot for you to park in.
We have room for 50 volunteers and will be meeting in the parking lot at 9:30am. DPW will be dividing volunteers up into three groups. 20 volunteers will focus on the beachside, 20 volunteers will focus on the K rails and 10-15 volunteers will focus on the park interior. DPW will provide trash pickers, safety vests, trash bags, sharp containers and tongs, brooms, dust pans, shrub rakes and mulch shovels.
After a brief orientation we will go to our routes and begin beautifying the state park. There will be A-frames posted throughout the park where we will pile bags filled with litter and DPW/Parks and Recs will collect them in a truck post-cleanup.
At 11:30am we will re-convene at the parking lot and serve a light boxed lunch with beer. *volunteers cannot continue cleaning the park after beer has been served*
