“She Bends” Women in Neon Exhibit & Demos | SF

Join the November San Francisco edition, where the intimate exhibit will be focusing on a select California She Bends artists and focusing on programming such as salon dinner, neon demos, film screening, & panel talk.

She Bends is the first and only collective of women bending their own neon.

Pushing the boundaries of the medium beyond the confines of commercial signage. She Bends was started out of a need for support among womxn benders. To foster an ethos of community over competition and believe it is the responsibility to move this craft forward towards sustainability & diversity.

  • Saturday November 16 | 8-10 pm | Neon Demo & Opening Reception featuring music turned by the B-side Brujas (open to the public)
  • Sunday November 17 | 5-7 pm | Neon Demo, Q&A & Film Screening of Las Vegas Bender, 22 min Directed by Danny Corey, Executive Producer: David Sadofsky, www.lasvegasbender.com (open to the public, limited seating)
  • Saturday November 23 | 6-8 pm | Neon Demo & Panel Discussion curated by a special guest (open to the public, limited seating)

The traveling exhibition creates a stage for womxn benders to share their work with communities around the nation and focuses on programming that educates the public on this storied medium. These shows also provide with a platform to celebrate womxn who may not be bending their own glass but are taking swings at the glass ceiling in their respective fields.

This show is graciously made possible by Topo Chico. Thank you to our host sponsor, Timbuk2.
