36th Annual
Berkeley Juneteenth Festival
Sunday, June 18, 2023
11AM to 7PM
Berkeley’s Juneteenth Festival commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Family Entertainment is the focus of all Berkeley Juneteenth Cultural Celebrations.
KID/STEM Zone Activities may have attractions like a rock wall, skating, and STEM activities. Art programs for young children also include dance, storytelling, slides, jumpers and clowns, face painting and art projects coordinated by community organizations.
RD BONDS MAIN STAGE is the “heart” of Juneteenth. The music incorporates the best of the African American experience: drumming, jazz, blues, neo-soul, gospel, R&B, and reggae. While talents, like Pharoah Sanders have graced our stage, the Festival is a vehicle for showcasing “up and coming acts”, providing new talent with an opportunity to expand their audience.
LOTHARIO LOTHO STAGE features performances directed towards young adults. Auditions are held thirty days prior to the Festival. Acts may include song, theatre, dance, gospel, jazz, spoken word, and fashion.
