Underground Film Night: Obscure Super 8 & 16mm Movies | Berkeley
The Berkeley Underground Film Society (BUFS) is an all ages club for collectors, researchers, and film enthusiasts in the East Bay and San Francisco area.
Their goal is to review and share a selective film history of movies on film.
Every Sunday, they screen buried, rarely projected, or otherwise obscure 8mm, Super 8, and 16mm prints from their collection.

"The Haunting" (1963) 16mm | Underground Film Night: Obscure Super 8 & 16mm Movies | BerkeleyDr. Markway, doing research to prove the existence of ghosts, investigates Hill House, a large, eerie mansion with a lurid history of violent death and insanity.
Writing in The Atlantic magazine, critic Pauline Kael called the film “moderately elegant, literate and expensive”. The film’s stature and following has grown steadily since its original release. Director Martin Scorsese placed The Haunting first on his list of the 11 scariest horror films of all time.
