Big Gay Ice Cream Jamboree | Humphry Slocombe

Beach Blanket Babylon, will join Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream in welcoming Manhattan’s Big Gay Ice Cream Truck for a one-night-only special event on Sunday, August 22 at 7 p.m. at Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream (2790 Harrison Street at 24th Street, San Francisco).

In what is being described as an “East-Coast-meets-West-Coast big gay ice cream double,” (SF Weekly’s SFoodie), the event will feature a special sundae created by Jake Godby (Humphry Slocombe) and Douglas Quint (The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck). Beach Blanket Babylon’s Glinda the Good Witch (Chavé Alexander) will be on-hand to help pass out the sundaes. The Go-Go’s Jane Wiedlin will also be in attendance for the premiere of her never-before-heard theme song, “The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck.”

Event is free, sundaes are $5.

About the Sundae:
Tranny Smackdown”
“Tranny padding” (shortbread baked by Humphry Slocombe’s Jake Godby), Humphry Slocombe strawberry ice cream and marshmallow fluff, smeared “mascara” (dark chocolate sauce), and smeared “lipstick” (Amarena cherry sauce), all topped with Trix cereal.
