Event Details

Join us this Black History Month for a free community conversation focused on supporting Black entrepreneurs in San Francisco.

On Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM, we welcome Charlie Baldwin, Store Manager of In The Black, to St. Mark’s Square. In The Black is a creative and entrepreneurial marketplace that transformed a former check-cashing outlet at Fillmore and Geary into a vibrant retail hub for Black-owned businesses.

Charlie will share the story behind this transformation and how In The Black is creating meaningful economic opportunity through affordable retail space, pop-ups, community events, and an online marketplace. The conversation will highlight the ongoing work of building long-term success and sustainability for Black entrepreneurs in San Francisco.

This forum is an opportunity to listen, learn, and better understand the role we can all play in supporting Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.
