Black Lives Matter Mural Art appreciation & Street Clean Up

Urban Restoration presents a mural art walk and cleans up!

Come help keep our city beautiful and clean. We will be picking up moop all while seeing the beautiful new murals that have blossomed in Downtown Oakland from the Black Lives Matter protests. This is for the community, by the community.

What is MOOP?
MOOP is an acronym which stands for “Matter Out Of Place.” Our goal is to remove moop off our city streets and put them in the right place!

Logistics:
Route: TBA (2 Routes – 2 Miles total)
Location: Frank Ogawa Plaza, Oakland, CA
11 am: Cat wrangling (meet up and socialize while social distancing)
12 pm: The No Moop art walk begins!
1 pm: Meet back up, return supplies, and feel free to hang out!

Guidelines:
Don’t pick up anything that looks dangerous or toxic.
Bring a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat.
Wear a mask.
Bring your own glove and trash picker (moop-stick)
Practice social distancing.
Follow all laws and traffic rules.
Bring a Moop bucket (1 – 2.5 gallon water jugs with a hole cut out on top work great!)
Take photos and invite friends! Use our hashtag #NoMOOP

This is a drug and alcohol-free gathering. Family-friendly and all ages welcome!

Supplies: Limited trash pickers (moop-sticks) and buckets will be provided, try to bring your own!
Trash liners (bags) will be provided.

Urban Restoration is a project with a mission to activate the community, engage citizens, and promote a culture of environmental stewardship and heroism. We plan to do this by inspiring citizens to come together and restore our cities and communities by removing MOOP.
