Book Shower: Celebrate “I’m Done Dimming My Light” (Milpitas)

Dear Team,

I’m reaching out to share a story worth covering — something truly unique happening here in Silicon Valley: a Book Shower.

We all know the cultural traditions of baby showers and bridal showers — whenever something life-changing begins, families and communities come together to support, celebrate, and help bring it to life. But what about books, businesses, and dreams? These are equally transformative milestones that deserve community backing and celebration.

That’s why Dr. Sanika Doolani is pioneering the idea of a Book Shower. On October 11th (Saturday), her community of friends, colleagues, and supporters will gather under one roof to welcome her upcoming book I’m Done Dimming My Light (to be released Spring 2026). The Book Shower is part celebration, part movement — a collective effort to rally around a dream, support it, and shine a spotlight on the courage it takes to bring a big idea to life.

This event is innovative. It asks an important question: why shouldn’t we come together for creators, authors, and entrepreneurs the same way we do for weddings and babies? It’s a first-of-its-kind event in Silicon Valley and an incredible opportunity to cover a new tradition in the making.

About the book: I’m Done Dimming My Light is a powerful exploration of how ambitious, multi-passionate people can reclaim their brilliance without burnout.
