Local author Fae Myenne Ng shares her award-winning memoir, Orphan Bachelors, and discusses stories of growing up as a first-generation Chinese American in San Francisco Chinatown.
Join this in-depth conversation that details a cultural Chinese-American nuance about San Francisco’s Chinatown and its legendary orphan bachelors — men without wives or children.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Fae Myenne Ng is an award-winning first-generation Chinese American author and educator. Her debut novel Bone told the story of three Chinese American daughters growing up in her real childhood hometown of San Francisco Chinatown. She currently provides lectures within the Asian American Studies department at UC Berkeley.
