Fernandez will work remotely with arts leaders in the Mexican cities of Juarez, Agua Prieta, and Mexicali who will work with community members to erase the border and bring the sky back to the land.

The three-state public project will be live-streamed in various locations across the globe to raise awareness of the destructive consequences of the border fence.

“Join us as early as 9am to witness this awe-inspiring public art project.”

Artist Ana Teresa Fernandez visually erases the train rails that serve as a divider between the two countries. She paints the rails sky blue to create a “Hole in the Wall”. This public artwork is a conceptual piece, yet most importantly a peace offering though minimalist muralism, using paint as a weapon or eraser rather than an addition.
