Potluck!
Bring along a dish to share. We will have grills heated up. Share food and meet the Box Shop community. No contributions required.

Make art!
San Francisco artist Alejandra Rassvetaieff will lead family and kids activities.

Murals!
We commissioned local artists to paint more than 130 murals throughout the space. The Box Shop is one of the Bay Area’s largest open-air mural art exhibits!

Sculpture Garden!
Take a stroll in our succulent garden, where plants and sculptures blossom in harmony.

The Box Shop is a haven for metalworkers, stone carvers, seamstresses, painters, woodworkers, sculptors, bicycle engineers, electronic car producers, and more. Bring your questions and quench your curiosity.

See Where Massive Art is Born!
Colossal structures are created at The Box Shop. Some become treasured public art, like Entwined Meadow – an installation in Golden Gate Park in the winters of 2020-2024. We’re also a Burning Man arts community hub. Dozens of Playa sculptures and art cars are built at The Box Shop. Check out the space, machinery, tools, and people that make this magic possible!

The Box Shop’s future is at risk after serving thousands of local artists and makers for 20 years. The Box Shop’s lease will end in 2025 with no option to renew.

We are working on securing a permanent home, so we can continue supporting Bay Area artists and nurturing the creative community we have built. We have already raised over $2.3M through private donations, government grants, and SBA loans, but we still need to raise $3 million to close the remaining gap.
