Being a Filipina woman in the mental health field in the midst of a pandemic…with the backdrop of ongoing systemic racism, hate crimes, and deaths at the hands of law enforcement is HEAVY. This week I reached my breaking point and found myself just CRYING on & off throughout the week as my heart went out to families that have been impacted.

Angelo Quinto, my brown brother, you should be here today to celebrate you 31st birthday with your Nanay & Ading Its been 3 months since you died at the hands of police after they kneeled on your neck for 5 minutes when you were having a mental health crisis. What they did is completely unacceptable and justice is needed.
To my beautiful elderly community, you DESERVE to walk around safely without fear of being attacked. I get cautious & protective for you during my morning runs when I see you getting in your solo walks in the neighborhood.

To all my fellow Asians out there, it’s time to SPEAK UP, SHARE OUR STORIES, & ADVOCATE. I know that we are conditioned to keep our heads down, to not rock the boat, to be STRONG by pushing through & doing our best to “make it” in America. But strength can also come in the form of vulnerability…owning our stories…and raising awareness of the racial traumas we face.

To all my Black, Latinx, Indigenous, & ALL the beautiful colors of the world, we need you to stand in solidarity with us more than ever. Collectively, we all need to heal as a nation. I’ll be hosting my very first peaceful protest on 3/28 from 1-3pm. ❤️ I have a bleeding passion to serve my communities & empower others! We will start at Lee’s Sandwiches on Calaveras Blvd in Milpitas then march to Milpitas City Hall for speakers & performances. See Less
