Local author Katie Arnold-Ratliff’s debut novel, Bright Before Us, sets 25 year old Francis Mason’s quarter life crisis against a backdrop of San Francisco. A redemptive tale of love and loss, Francis struggles to accept the wrenching truth about the past he’s never been able to move beyond, a tumult prompted by his discovery of a dead body on a San Francisco beach.
