The Brower Center’s Grange Hall will celebrate the growing season with family activities including a seed swap, planting table, and homesteading workshops on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
Free, but an RSVP is required.
A grain celebration will spill onto the street with on-site education, milling, and a Bay Area pizza truck. Live music will be provided by a local band and shorts from the Know Your Food film series will be played all afternoon.
Schedule on March 1, 2014
- Noon to 1:45 pm: Paint your own Lexicon poster to take home or add to the gallery exhibition
- 12:15-2 pm: Demonstrations covering topics such as urban farming, grains and milling, seed saving, curing meat, and more
- 12:45-3 pm: Mill your own flour on a bicycle mill
- 2:15-3 pm: Seed swap
This event is a part of The Brower Center’s Lexicon of Sustainability exhibit; the series is ongoing until May.
