Activate McCoppin: Month-Long Block Party | SF

During the month of November 2013, Activate McCoppin is temporarily transforming the McCoppin Hub, at the intersection of Valencia and McCoppin Streets from a parking lot into a community hub.

McCoppin Hub is hosting a variety of events and art installations in an effort to offer opportunities for communities to come together, connect, share, collaborate, and have fun. This project will help determine what programming works in the McCoppin Hub prior to the improvement project slated to begin in 2014.

Want to host your own event? Come teach a class on basket weaving, play some bluegrass, or host a panel discussion. The possibilities are endless.

Inflatable Workspace | Activate McCoppin: Month-Long Block Party | SF

Todo Por La Praxis, a Spanish architectural and art collective, will lead an all day workshop in which they will share their methodologies on urban activation and use the devices they have built for urban workspaces as they teach all attendees how to build “The Bubble,” a temporary inflatable workspace.

Todo por la Praxis / TXP  is a multidisciplinary team work. One of their main objective is the construction of collaborative micro-architectural and micro-urban devices to “reconquer” public space as a place for collective use of the citizenship.
