Event Details

Experience something new…part book club, part graduate seminar, part Parisian salon. Presidio Book Club is an inclusive gathering that anyone can take part in, whether or not they’ve read the book. Led by Presidio Trust historian Barbara Berglund.

Gain a deeper understanding of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge through the stories of nine workers who helped build it. This new oral history brings readers into the world of the construction process, the tough physical conditions workers endured, some of the pleasures they enjoyed and victories they celebrated.

The result is a powerful evocation of working-class life and culture in 1930s San Francisco.
