Creativity Explored is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of artwork by Camille Holvoet curated by Jordan Stein and Lindsey White.
Guest curators Stein and White miss getting people together. When introduced to Camille Holvoet’s astonishing recent work – created at home while CE studios remain closed – they quickly realized their show at the CE gallery had to be about cakes, a symbol of celebration, togetherness, and indulgence.
The show highlights recent cake drawings by Holvoet created during the pandemic, processing anxiety, desires, and her longing to connect. And now that we can finally smell an end in sight, it’s a rich occasion to admire Holvoet’s sweetly complex creations, which often share the frame with written enthusiasm, frustrations, memories, and even shoes, eyeballs, and flames.
Join the Curator Talk on May 4th, from 6 – 7 pm (PT). Register via Eventbrite using your VIP Donor Code or become a donor to join the discussion: https://bit.ly/3dLCAM7
About Camille Holvoet
Camille Holvoet’s practice tends to draw on remembrances of life’s anxieties and forbidden desires. Her process is an endless discovery, in which – through rendering in oil pastel her sacred objects: desserts, Ferris wheels, and crossed eyes – the pressures of the past are relieved by the joy of the creative process.
